Elina Janu
Ellina Janou was born in Nalchik, Caucasus, in October 1988.
In 2019, Ellina is a special guest of the Roommates exhibition, organized in support of young and promising artists in the region; – created illustrations both for the published collection of musical miniatures, now performed in all schools in Russia, and for the poetry collection, which the author will soon present in Russia and Europe; – is credited as the author of a series of graphic illustrations in the credits of a local documentary filmmaker.
In 2018, the Art Center in Nalchik hosted Hellenism: Restart, Elina’s first solo art exhibition dedicated to her 30th birthday. The opening of the exhibition was quite original and non-standard. Elina's stories were read by the artist herself, her friends, theater actors and famous bloggers. She performed jazz, rock and R'n'B pieces accompanied by local musicians. Live classical music and inspiring performances made the event a real success and attracted great interest from the local community. Both Elina and Shaw were supported by honored artists of the region.
In 2016, the famous Russian nonconformist artist Mikhail Shemyakin chose Ellina from over 100 applicants to participate in his exhibition, held at the National Museum of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic.
